1921 Tequila Blanco

Tequila Julep

Herbal and aromatic: basil, rosemary, thyme and epazote.

Glass · Tall · crushed ice

Ingredients

  • 2 oz (60 ml) 1921 Tequila Blanco
  • ¾ oz (20 ml) Fresh lime juice
  • 1 oz (30 ml) Basil syrup
  • 2 oz (60 ml) Rosemary soda

Method

  1. Combine tequila, lime juice and basil syrup in a mixing glass and stir.
  2. Fill a glass with crushed ice.
  3. Pour the mixture over the ice and top with rosemary soda.
  4. Mist with thyme.
GarnishAn epazote sprig.
1921 Tequila Reposado

Artesanal

Fruity and silky, with peach jam and orange cream.

Glass · Tall · ice

Ingredients

  • 2 oz (60 ml) 1921 Tequila Reposado
  • 1 oz (30 ml) Grapefruit juice
  • ½ oz (15 ml) Fresh lime juice
  • 1 tsp Peach jam
  • Soda, to top
  • Orange cream

Method

  1. Add tequila, grapefruit juice, jam and lime to a shaker and shake vigorously.
  2. Fill a glass with ice and pour in the mixture.
  3. Top with soda.
  4. Finish with a layer of orange cream.
GarnishA dehydrated grapefruit slice.
1921 Tequila Añejo

Clavo

Stirred, herbal and citrusy — a cocktail for sipping.

Ingredients

  • 1.5 oz (45 ml) 1921 Tequila Añejo
  • 1 oz (30 ml) Herbal liqueur

Method

  1. Chill a glass with ice, then discard it.
  2. Combine tequila and herbal liqueur in a mixing glass.
  3. Add fresh ice to the glass and pour in the mixture.
GarnishA cherry and an orange peel.
1921 Tequila Cream & Añejo

Side Beach

Creamy, tropical and toasted: hazelnut, coconut and the depth of Añejo.

Ingredients

  • 1.5 oz (45 ml) 1921 Tequila Cream
  • ¾ oz (20 ml) 1921 Tequila Añejo
  • 1 oz (30 ml) Hazelnut liqueur
  • 1 oz (30 ml) Coconut cream

Method

  1. Add all liquid ingredients to a shaker.
  2. Shake vigorously.
  3. Strain into a coupe glass.
GarnishCoconut shavings.
1921 Tequila Blanco & Cream

Exotic Dream

Sweet-and-sour and floral, with banana vinegar and nutmeg.

Ingredients

  • 1 oz (30 ml) 1921 Tequila Blanco
  • 1 oz (30 ml) 1921 Tequila Cream
  • ¾ oz (20 ml) Banana vinegar
  • ⅓ oz (10 ml) Nutmeg syrup

Method

  1. Fill a glass with ice.
  2. Add the tequila and tequila cream.
  3. Add the banana vinegar and nutmeg syrup.
  4. Stir gently.
GarnishAn edible flower and a natural or metal straw.
1921 Tequila Reposado

Tarrito

Herbal and golden, with agave nectar and thyme soda in a pewter cup.

Glass · Pewter cup · ice

Ingredients

  • 1.5 oz (45 ml) 1921 Tequila Reposado
  • 1 oz (30 ml) Agave nectar
  • 3 oz (90 ml) Thyme soda

Method

  1. Chill a pewter cup and discard the ice.
  2. Combine tequila and agave nectar in the cup.
  3. Add ice and top with thyme soda.
GarnishA mint sprig and a dusting of colored sugar.
Maria Bonita Mezcal

Guana Spritz

A dry, floral aperitivo — orgeat and fino sherry round out the mezcal, and the bubbles lift it.

Glass · Wine glass · ice

Ingredients

  • 1.5 oz (45 ml) Maria Bonita Mezcal
  • ½ oz (15 ml) Orgeat syrup
  • ½ oz (15 ml) Tío Pepe fino sherry
  • Brut Champagne or Prosecco, to top

Method

  1. Combine every ingredient except the Champagne or Prosecco in a shaker.
  2. Shake vigorously.
  3. Strain into a wine glass filled with ice.
  4. Top with the bubbles.
GarnishA lime wheel and/or a cucumber ribbon.
Maria Bonita Mezcal

Agave Fresh

Fresh and herbal — grapefruit and agave with a whisper of mint and cucumber.

Glass · Rocks · ice

Ingredients

  • 1.6 oz (48 ml) Maria Bonita Mezcal
  • 1.5 oz (45 ml) Grapefruit juice
  • 0.8 oz (24 ml) Agave syrup
  • ½ oz (15 ml) Lime juice
  • 0.1 oz (3 ml) Giffard Menthe Pastille
  • Juice of 3 cucumber slices

Method

  1. Muddle fresh cucumber to extract the juice.
  2. Combine all the ingredients in a shaker with ice.
  3. Strain into a glass over ice.
